Photo Journal

Here is a photo journal of our recent trip to Salt Lake. We went the first weekend in June. I took the kids to see their dad. We tried to play and I think that the kids had a good time.

One of our first stops was at the "This is the Place" Heritage Park.

Of course we had to go the gift shop, and of course Taylor enjoyed looking things over as she shopped...a girl after my own heart.

And they each had to try the silly hats on...

Taylor, of course all cheese, although I'm not sure why she brought the baby doll with her.

The plan was to then go to see Jeff and his mom and have lunch all together. We ended up going to McDonald's. The kids ate quickly and had a great time with the 'Playland' there.

After McDonald's, we drove around for a little bit, and ended up at the

Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan.

After the park, we drove around to see the 'sights' of West/South Jordan. Then we went to eat at Sizzler. That is one of the things that Taylor wanted as a part of her birthday, to eat at Sizzler together as a family...after which, we went back to our hotel.

The next day, we started by going for a train ride. It is called the 'Frontrunner' and it is a train operated by Utah Transit Authority. It is a straight shot from Salt Lake to Ogden, and back. Some of the cars are double-deckers...and that is of course where we rode, on the top.

I'm not sure Jared knows how to give a partial smile.

I later found out that Taylor REALLY didn't enjoy the whole train experience. But she was a trooper to let her brothers enjoy it.

During our stop in Ogden, Dylan wanted his picture taken with the 'old train with a hook'. Jared just happened to walk in the way.

After the train ride, we went to the Gateway Plaza food court for lunch. Dylan and Taylor each had their own $5 footlong, and thought that it was sooo cool!!!

The time for us to come home was quickly approaching and so we went to a park just behind where Jeff lives, and let the kids play for an hour.

Don't worry, Dylan's MRI is scheduled at Primary Children's in August.

Memorial Day Weekend...

Memorial Day Weekend in Idaho was like it was traditionally....cold, windy, overcast, dark and WET. Also true to form, I had to work. When I got home at 7 AM Saturday morning, I took a quick nap. I set my alarm on my phone because I didn't want to miss what I needed to do. I got up at 11 and picked up the kids from my parents. We went to visit two cemeteries. First we visited the one in town, and then we went to the one out to Parker. This is where a good share of my more immediate family is. My grandma Phillips, who just passed in February, is there. Her headstone was placed there just a couple of weeks ago.

I took pictures and decided to put them online for those of you who are unable to see it.

Luckily Sunday night, I was on call and I was able to sleep. So when Monday came around, we tried to go play. We went to Target and got the boys some sandals, Taylor some capri's and everyone some shorts. Then we ran thru the drive-thru at Burger King then took our goods to the equal access playground at Tautphaus Park. We sat in the sun, (yes there FINALLY was some Monday around 1PM) and ate. Then they played for over an hour. It was busy, but they had a GREAT time. There was a family there, that was playing tag...and Dylan couldn't help but be drawn into it also.

We finally made our way home in time for me to change and get ready for work. It was so fun to play, and a great start to our summer. I hope that we have a great summer and are able to play hard, as long as we can.

Taylor's 7th Birthday

Here is the 'catch up' on Taylors Birthday that was on May 16th. Her cake was pink and purple and in a ♥ shape, just like she wanted. No surprise, that is what Taylor would want. Some new clothes.

Jared's 4th Birthday

Yes, I understand Jared's birthday was April 7th. Yes, I understand I am way super behind. But I hope there is credit in trying to catch up regardless of how behind I may be.
